Dixie Cup is the brand name for a line of disposable paper cups. Dixie Cup was originally called the "Health Cup," but since 1919 it has been named after a series of dolls produced by the Alfred Schindler Dixie Doll Company in New York, and the top of the factory is a large water tank in the shape of a cup.
  The creativity of Dixie Cup
Dixie Cup is the brand name for a line of disposable paper cups that were first developed in the United States in 1907 by a Boston lawyer named Lawrence, who?invented the "health Cup." Lawrence did this to help improve public health and hygiene because he was worried about communal cups.
On February 3, 1909, Moore and Luellen formed the Public Cup Vendor Company, incorporated in New York, primarily to rent out their machines to railroads and train stations, and then sell the cups in bulk to their customers. Hugh Moore was appointed treasurer and general manager of the Public Cup supplier company.  In this company as well as the others Luellen received stock and a salary.
  The name of Dixie Cup
Dixie Toys is in the same building where Moore makes healthy paper cups. One day in 1919, while working on a catchy new name for the company, Moore glanced at a neighbor's sign and remembered a story he had heard as a child.
In pre-Civil War New Orleans, a check for $10 was known locally as "dix," or "10" in French. The river boatmen called these checks' dixies' and they would say they were going downstream to 'get some dixies'. Etymologists believe this legend is where the word "Dixie" came from, and it was also used as a nickname for the Southern states during the Civil War: "Dixie Land." For Moore, Dixie fits all the bill for a company name. It's a simple, beautiful combination of letters and easy to pronounce.
The name Moore had previously come up with had played on public health concerns, but they didn't last long. Dixie Cup Company was a brainchild of his, and has stuck. Moore settled on the name at a time when ice cream manufacturers were struggling to get Americans to consume ice cream.
  The background of Dixie Cup
At that time, there were large boxes of ice cream available in the market. People could buy carbonated drinks and candy for one person, but ice cream was only available for families. Moore's company took the tradition one step further. 5 oz paper cups, add a flat lift lid, through a circle of grooves, the lid can be tightly clasped to the body of the cup.
Because of  the paper cups, ice cream makers and ice cream lovers around the world are enjoying individual ice cream for the first time. By 1925, Moore's cups had established such a strong association with the dessert industry that adults and children simply asked for "Dixie cups" when buying individual ice cream.
The above is the origin of Dixie Cup, the emergence and name of each brand has a history worth exploring, There's a purpose and a value to his existence, and it shouldn't be buried.
